Angelica (Angelica Sinensis) A hairy, biennial plant with white flowers. Known in traditional Chinese medicine as “Dong Quai”, this root of this herb is used to relieve blood and qi stagnation due to cold type menstrual disorders such as cramps, infrequent and irregular periods, PMS and menopausal symptoms. It is an antispasmodic, carminative, depurative, diaphoretic, digestive, diuretic, expectorant, hepatic, stimulant, stomachic and tonic.
